The Purge-Anarchy

Alright lets hear it.  Who would it be?  You all have that one person in your life who drives you nuts, who you cant stand, that you would maybe even kill?  Now imagine you have one night a year where it is legal!  "I would never" or "I have higher morals than that"  I'm sure many of you are saying that right now and I am calling a great big  bullshit!  Ok, we know the Purge premise and those of you who watched the first one hopefully were a little disappointed.  I really didn't like the first but thoroughly enjoyed this one.  First off we aren't stuck in a house all night with Ethan Hawk.  This story was a little more of a "Warriors" type movie where a group has to make it through the city.  The Purgers are awesome and of course a more sinister lurks behind the curtain.  They threw in some good story-lines here such as purging for profit and a rebellion rising up against the debutantes.  This movie stars a very underrated Frank Grillo, who is pretty much bad ass in every movie he is in.  There are some serious holes in this movie such as, what the hell are the weak, non purging suburbanites doing out an hour before the purge?  How do you not have a weapon of any sorts no matter what?  Why the hell don't you have a back up plan for your back up plan???  This movie takes place during the sixth purge, if you dont know how to take drastic measures by now, your screwed.  All in all I really liked this movie, especially since the first one was such a let down.  Give it a shot and try not to kill anyone on your way to the Redbox.

FYI:  The cast was so into this movie they actually went to a suburb of Manhattan and killed people for cinematic research.
