Another great Netflix catch thats an indie Mike Judge film.
The characters in this movie are awesome and in true Judge form. We
have a middle age vanilla extract factory owner (Bateman), who is seriously
missing something in his life, most notably sex from his distant wife. He
gets involved with a scheme to find out if his wife is cheating on him and in
the meantime falls for a young, hot con artist. There are so many
personalities in this movie that it will keep you interested throughout while
throwing in hilarious mishaps that are all too real life. I think Bateman
is one of the funniest actors today and pairing him with Kristin Wiig, J.K.
Simmons, and David Koechner is genius. If your up for a good light
hearted comedy with an indie feel, this is it.
(FYI: The scene in the pawn shop where Cindy sells
the stolen guitar was filmed in the same store used for the infamous pawn shop
scenes in Pulp Fiction.)
