Mmmmmmm, beer! It really is the life blood in any country,
especially when it results in millions of dollars, terrible decisions, and the
premise of so many great movies. So remember the time you were down on
your luck, broke, and looking for the big score? Then you came up with
the brilliant idea to kidnap the Billionaire Mogul and founder of Heineken
Beer? I know I do! This movie will make you glad you didn't go through
with it. This is the true story, virtually unknown to anyone about a
group of boneheads who come up with that very plan. Well they pull it
off, sort of. There are a few familiar faces in this crowd like Anthony
Hopkins, Jason Stackhouse from True Blood, and the dude from Avatar. The
acting was pretty good, but any movie that casts dudes with foreign accents
makes you think the acting is good. The story was crazy and a little
unbelievable, although I read that the movie isn't to close to the actual events.
It really needed more of a back story on the characters, and it moved a
little fast with some dull parts in between but overall good hidden gem.
You will get a little nervous as they make some pretty stupid mistakes
but the greed bleeds through and you can get sucked in pretty quick. I
would give it a watch, mainly because no one you know has seen it and gives you
the opportunity to tell your friends about a story they have never heard of.
Just be sure that the next time you pull off a job like this, you
kill your partners and steal their portion of the kitty!
FYI: This was the largest ransom paid for a kidnapping in
history.
