Fury

I have to start off by saying that through the entire movie I kept thinking, "How awesome is Brad Pitt's Hair"!  Seriously, even in the middle of a significant battle between his tank crew and 200 Germans, he would take off his helmet and still have perfect hair!  The guy is 50 and has a full head of locks that would make the Wolf Man jealous.  I read some reviews on this saying it was the worst war movie ever made and how terrible it was, I totally disagree!  Some might say "War Porn", you know who you are, but you are an idiot.  This movie kicks ass!  Basically its a movie based on a tank crew in Nazi Germany toward the end of the war who have to go secure high threat areas with a skeleton crew.  The tank called "Fury" run by Pitt's character has a reputation for being the most efficient group of bad asses becomes the lead of a squad going into some pretty hairy situations.  It ends on a stand off with a company of SS soldiers and go figure, the tank has a blown track.  The acting could have been better, but the story was great with some great characters.  Shia is in this, and even though a lot of people hate him, I think he is awesome.  Shane from the Walking Dead is a real dirt bag, but plays the part excellent.  Throw in the new, young and dumb private who was assigned to be an assistant gunner after pushing papers and you have a coming of age role that is a little typical.  At first I thought it was going to be another movie about a bunch of rough necks who have to serve with some fresh young idiot, but it was so much more.  There were some pretty unrealistic portions of this movie that could have been more accurate but it is a war movie staring Brad Pitt, so what do you expect?  I would definitely watch this again and highly recommend it to anyone who is in the mood for a good ole fashion killing flick.

FYI:  The Director actually enticed the actors to fight with each other so they could capture the  environment and mental aspect of a real, stressful war situation.

  1. Another movie I probably wouldn't have watched if not for your blog. I loved this flick, Great War movie. I am not always a Shai fan but this was a different character for him and I really liked him. Brad Pitt was fantastic, the only thing better than "War Daddy" was his hair. Thank you Molina Film Review
