The Monuments Men

Hey, I'm fat and old pretending to be a private in the military.  That is the perfect recruit to take over Hitlers destructive regime!  I think if you know anything about art history you will really like this movie. A true story about a band of men, most art and architect historians asked to go on a near impossible mission to recover priceless pieces of art from the Nazi scumbags.  FDR, was thinking when this event happened, is this worth all the trouble?  Risking men's lives in order to retrieve a piece of art.  Looking back now I would say, absolutely.  These man knew that they may never be remembered for what they did, but the world has been able to enjoy these priceless pieces of history because of their sacrifices.  When I first heard of this movie most of the reviews were terrible, but they are all wrong.  This was an outstanding story much needing being told.  Its not your typical action packed war movie, but the depths that some people will unselfishly go to supporting something they truly believe in.  Of course throwing in a bunch of A list actors gives a bit of a cheese appeal, but anything with Walter from The Big Lebowsky, and Carl from Caddyshack has to be good, right?  Give it a watch, more than likely you will not be disappointed.

FYI:  The true Monuments Men group was actually made up of about 345 man and women.
